The History of Zinck's Night

Theodore Zinck was a saloonkeeper in Ithaca in the 1890's. After he died in 1903, several bars kept his memory alive by using his name. When the last Zinck's closed in the mid-1960s, undergraduates began celebrating the Spirit of Zinck's on Thursday nights in Collegetown. Soon afterward, Cornell alumni continued the tradition in their own hometowns. Today, there are more than 90 cities around the world keeping the Spirit of Zinck's alive by celebrating together on October 17.

Do your part to keep the Spirit of Zinck's alive! Stop by after work, have a drink, see your old Cornell friends, and make some new friends, too.
